I have finished illustrations for the past four Illustration Friday topics and just haven’t posted them. This time I’m pulling something out from the old archives. This was a three hour assignment in my book illustration class.
It’s been a long time since I updated. Classes ended last week and tomorrow is graduation! I’ve been doing some job searching and have more resumes to send in.
I got my book illustration project back and I have some paintings to scan in and get up on the website. However, until then I did a piece for Illustration Friday. The theme was Citrus. What’s better than iced tea with lemon on a hot summer day?
Well, thesis is almost here… The deadline is Monday at 9:00am, so this weekend has been full of fun thesis stuff. Yesterday Josh and I traveled across state lines to pick up our framed pieces and bring them back to Milwaukee. We got Josh’s up mostly last night, with a big of minor leveling and rearranging this morning.
Despite my limited amount of space, things ended up going pretty smoothly. In about five hours we got my space in working order, after a lot of clever rearranging.

So I got my postcards… all 1,000 of them! Well, in this picture you can see 907 of them, the other 93 are in the mail. So start checking your mailbox and see if you were one of the luck 93 to get one. If you know you aren’t one of those people who are getting one it’s probably because I don’t have your address. If this is the case, then send me an e-mail with your address.
But if you got one of Josh’s you can assume I have your address.
Well, I’ve gotten my website all updated and working nicely. I had a lot of work to put up there, seeing how I hadn’t updated it in a couple months.
This is my most recent painting I did. I really liked how it turned out and this is really the direction I want to be working in.
Hopefully I will get some of my thesis work up here soon. It’s so big that it is difficult to get it onto my computer, but maybe I’ll take a picture later this week.
My next big task is starting on Book Illustration- illustrating “The Magic Porridge Pot.” You can see the character designs on the main page.
This is only my second Illustration Friday submission. Thanks to my awesome fiance my website is now up and running and it is cooler than ever!
